BRANISLAV KOVACIK was born in Slovakia where he
graduated with a focus on the making of violin-family
instruments. After his initial studies, he gained
additional professional experience in Mittenwald
(Germany), Prague (Czech Republic), Wien (Austria),
and Italy.
Mr. Kovacik has participated in two important
violin-making competitions -- one in Czech Republic
(Nachod), where his violin was award 2nd place for
tone; the other in the Slovak Republic at Instrumentum
Excellens, where his violin and viola were awarded 1st
place.
Branislav Kovacik uses only the finest and acoutically
excellent wood from Bosnia, the Italian Dolomites, and
Slovakia. His instruments are based on original models
of Antonio Stradivari, Guarneri del Gesu. and J.B.
Guadanini.
Mr. Kovacik also makes replicas of original master
instruments and customizes string instruments
according to the wishes of the client.
His instruments are finished with oil, ether and
spirit varnishes and are played and enjoyed by
professional artists (and audiences) throughout
Europe.
