VASILE MARE began his career as a luthier in 1970.
Starting in 1985, he made hand-made violins of artist
quality under the supervision of the important contemporary
Romanian makers, ROMAN BOIANCIUC and IOAN LUCA.
In 1995, Mr. Mare started his own business, offering
a complete range of stringed instruments at the highest
level of quality. Today, his instruments are recognized
around the world. Their excellence is corroborated by
the awards he has received in numerous international
contests such as the ones in Cremona, Italy and Mittenwald,
Germany.
The wood Mr. Mare selects and uses is naturally dried
for more than 20 years, and is entirely hand-processed.
His distinctive varnish uses resins dissolved in alcohol
or oil. All of his instruments are hand-made using Italian
patterns and models. Mr. Mare makes violins, violas
