Lubos Odlas is one of the bright stars in bow making
in Central and Eastern Europe today. His training
took place in Bohemia, the center of the Czech and
German tradition of violin-family instrument and bow
making. There he studied with Milan Oubrecht and continued
his work and training with his family's company --
a large and very successful enterprise that make bows
in all categories. Mr. Odlas specializes in artist-level
bows and uses only the finest select pernambuco, ebony
and other materials. Blue Danube Violins works with
him and hand-selects each stick before it is carved
for us to insure optimum density, flexibility, appearance
and tonal resonance.
Bows can be made to order with very interesting and
unique designs on the frog as well as frogs made from
such materials such as horn and imitation tortoise-shell.
Mr. Odlas's bows can also be obtained with beautifully
engraved silver as well as traditional silver and
gold.
